Who We Are

HC Link is a collaborative of three partner organizations that support community groups, organizations and partnerships in Ontario to build healthy communities. Health Nexus, Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition (OHCC), and Parent Action on Drugs (PAD) work together as one organization, allowing us to capitalize on the strengths of each partner and offer high-quality, coordinated services. Together we have decades of experience in providing a wide range of capacity building services to those working on community-based health promotion programs and initiatives. We have a proven track record in providing services that are not only responsive to client needs but also anticipate emerging trends and issues in the field.

HC Link was formed in 2009, bringing together four Ontario health promotion resource centres. We were asked by the then Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion to form a consortium of resource centres because of our history, expertise and years of experience in supporting community-based partnerships, collations and networks. The four founding members of HC Link are: Heart Health Resource Centre, hosted at the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA); Health Promotion Hub, hosted at Health Nexus; Ontario Drug Awareness Partnership, hosted at Parent Action on Drugs (PAD); and Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition (OHCC).

Between 2009 and 2010 we moved from coordination and delivery of joint activities to a full collaborative partnership of four organizations: Health Nexus, OHCC, PAD and OPHA. While we recognize the rich history and many accomplishments of each of our organizations, we began to work jointly under the name HC Link. In 2011 we underwent a consultative re-branding exercise and in October, launched our new name and website. In 2012 OPHA made the difficult decision to end its formal partnership with HC Link. However, the staff and consultants who worked with HC Link remain with us in a variety of capacities. You will also find many OPHA resources (from the former Heart Health Resource Centre) on our website.

HC Link works closely with a number of health promotion resource centres funded by the Ontario Government.
